Fraud detection applied to credit card payment: a puzzle particularly stimulating for data scientists!
Frédéric OBLE, Head of R&D High Processing & Volume division at Worldline by ATOS

Abstract : For a long time, the Fraud Detection Systems (FDS) were based on expert rules. Thanks to advanced analytics the data driven rules can know compete or enhance the expert rules in the perspective to maintain very reactive FDS.
The credit card fraud is a complex and fascinating subject at the mathematical point of view. The developed algorithms must be capable of adapting themselves continuously along the transaction are coming and the fraud strategies are changing.
A "game" of cat and mouse where data scientist has to have a blow beforehand! Let us see how the problem settles and which types of algorithms answer it. We will present a way to put in place an efficient Industrial data driven FDS based on advanced analytics technics and tools.

Biography : Member of the Atos Scientific community, Frederic Oble is currently head of R&D High Performance and Volume Department of Worldlin.
His activities are at the Crossroads of R&D, innovation, business development, and consulting. After a PhD related to High Performance computing applied to physics phenomena simulation, he is leading Research & Development investment programs dedicated to Artificial Intelligence in a close collaboration to academic and industrial partners.
Specialties: R&D, Research, Disruptive innovation, Management, Technology transfer, Emerging business incubation.
