The Essonne Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a public institution, was established in 1899.It is run by businessmen elected by their peers representing the 40,000 Essonne businesses. Reelected in 2010, Gerard Huot has been the President since 2004.
The elected representatives lay out the CCI’s strategic policy of promoting the Essonne’s attractiveness for businesses along with supporting local business development. Furthermore they represent the interests of businesses to the local authorities and state departments.
The CCIE also provides services to help businesses with their development, including public service missions such as formalities for company registration, visas for the export of goods and the registration of apprenticeship contracts. It also gives support to businesses concerning regulations and provides them with its expertise to further their development in the fields of environment, quality, innovation, technology transfer, export, human resources…
