Variational Quantum Eigensolvers (VQE) and Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithms (QAOA) can be used in conjunction with classical high performance computing for simulation purposes, e.g. in theoretical chemistry.

In this talk, recent developments in ion trap quantum computing are presented, which enable more and more of those theoretical considerations to be practically implemented.

Biography: Max is a Research Engineer at Alpine Quantum Technologies. Being a physicist by training, he worked on Quantum Technologies for over a decade and is excited about evolving Quantum Computing from the lab space into a commercial product.
