Deep learning for aerospace applications

Summary :  DeLTA is project hosted at ONERA which aims at using machine learning methods for aerospace applications. ONERA includes a wide variety of research domains, from image processing and understanding to fluid mechanics and electromagnetism. ONERA has access to a lot of various data allowing the use of deep learning techniques to new applications, such as 3D data processing or fluid flow classification. The main objective of this project, along with scientific progress, is the development of a platform, including a public interface, to make available tutorials, code and neural networks architectures developed during the project. This is done in order to make the research reproducible and accessible.

Biography : Dr. Alexandre Boulch received an engineering degree from the Ecole Polytechnique, a M.Sc in Computer Vision and Machine Learning at ENS Cachan and a PhD from the Eastern Paris University (UPE) with a thesis focusing on geometric and semantic reconstruction for buildings. His research fields are computational geometry and machine learning for remote sensing data, including Lidar and satellite imagery.
