TERATEC 2016 Forum
Workshop 4 - Wednesday, June 29 from 9:00 to 12:30
Specialised computing architectures : helpers or challengers ?

The new paradigm of quantum computing and its implementation challenges
Daniel ESTEVE, Quantronique, SPEC, CEA-Saclay, Université Paris-Saclay

Abstract : Quantum computing should allow us to carry out calculations beyond reach of classical computers. Its power arises from the richness of the quantum states of a physical system, but the requirement to maintain quantum coherence during system evolution raises daunting difficulties that have not been yet solved. I will expose these challenges, the state of the art of quantum processors, and the perspectives of the field.
