Fourth edition of the Scilab Users' Day
The annual day of current or future Scilab users has become the major event of numerical computation and simulation community since 4 years.
One day to provide Scilab users with the opportunity to discover the latest software developments, industrial applications and enhance their knowledge of Scilab and its ecosystem.
Besides the possibility to exchange between users and meet the R&D team, participants will have the opportunity to get details on the strategy and positioning of Scilab Enterprises with the presentation of Claude Gomez, CEO and Jacques Dhellemmes, Vice President.
Will Schroeder, President, CEO and co-founder of Kitware, Inc., will open ScilabTEC 2012 with a keynote entitled "The Imperative of Open Science".
Future scientific progress depends on Open Access, Open Data, and Open Source: the three pillars of Open Science. These practices enable us to leverage the expertise of contributors around the world; build trust in foundational technologies; and engage in unencumbered scientific exploration and engineering innovation. This presentation addresses these issues, and discussed ways in which Open Science can be practiced now.
