Digital Twins: from "concept" to industrial implementation
Animated by Laurent ANNE, DISTENE

Leveraging Digital Twin technologies in simulation-based Engineering and Operations

By Jacques DUYSENS, EMEA Business Development Director, ANSYS Inc

1st  Digital Twin generation was mainly based on data sciences technologies and now a 2nd  generation based on numerical simulation has raised. The power of that 2nd  generation digital twin based on simulation models will be emphasized but also the complementarity with data-analytics - based technologies.

Some industrial real-life examples will be presented, some of them leveraging the "SAP PEI enabled by ANSYS" platform (Predictive Engineering Insights enabled by ANSYS) resulting of a strategic partnership between SAP and ANSYS within that field.

Biography : Jacques DUYSENS, 51 years old, obtained his civil engineer Diploma in Electricity and Mechanics, and in Aerospace from the University of Liège in Belgium with the highest distinction.

He joined ANSYS in 2015. He is currently Business Development Director for EMEA and Simulation-Based Digital Twins Evangelist.
Jacques DUYSENS is member of several professional societies including ASME (American Society of American Engineers), AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics) and IACM (International Association for Computational Mechanics). He is also co-founder and Board member of the French Center of High Performance Computing Teratec.

Jacques DUYSENS has been lecturing for more than 20 years at Ecole Centrale de Lyon and at Pôle Universitaire Léonard de Vinci: courses taught on Finite Element Method,  High Performance Computing, Multiscale and Multiphysics simulation-based Engineering Methods, Sustainable Automotive Engineering.
