A space for strategic dialogue at the heart of the TERATEC Forum The TERATEC Forum round tables provide opportunities for essential debate between industrial users, technology suppliers, and scientific experts, moderated by a journalist. Differing from lectures, they provide spaces for genuine exchange and direct confrontation on the major challenges of high-performance computing. These exchanges focus on strategic and forward-looking topics, such as generative AI and European sovereignty, the impact of AI on supercomputer architecture, and the energy consumption of data centers. Each round table aims to highlight not only the technological challenges, but also the institutional and economic levers: how to build infrastructure in Europe, what partnerships to forge, and how to anticipate hybrid architectures. These discussions also explore sustainability issues: with computing needs skyrocketing, how can we balance performance and energy efficiency? The diversity of participants allows for a cross-pollination of perspectives between users and suppliers, strategy and usage. Beyond simply taking stock of the situation, these round tables have a forward-looking purpose: they seek to identify levers for action in Europe, to imagine hybrid or sustainable models, and to promote synergies between research, industry, and decision-makers. Finally, bringing together a highly diverse community around concrete issues, the round tables reflect on the spirit of the TERATEC Forum: a place for dialogue, co-construction, and inspiration, where the future of high-performance computing is being built together.
