SME Committee

January, 2012

The first topics to consider were put in place during the association's committee meeting on September 29, 2011. The first avenues of thought are:

  • Managing the small and medium enterprise group members of the association: It was proposed to start these events by taking advantage of the launch of "TERATEC Thursdays" to initiate the first meeting of the small and medium enterprises.

  • Work on the relations between TERATEC's small and medium enterprises and OSEO: This is done by organizing a meeting with OSEO's new director, in connection with the evolution of OSEO's objectives.

  • Develop connections between TERATEC's small and medium enterprises and SYSTEMATIC to take advantage of the cluster's resources. Effectively, the majority of TERATEC's small and medium enterprises are members of SYSTEMATIC.

Reflect on diverse platforms related to small and medium enterprises, including:

  • NumInnov, Cloud Computing platform for high performance computing uses

  • PIHCS, platform for small and medium mechanical engineering companies

  • A Multimedia platform project (Multimedia/Movies/Serious games)

  • A Health platform (Biology/Pharmacy/Cosmetology)

Within these platforms, priority will be given to the access of small and medium enterprises in a framework that could be slightly different from "Large Company" access.

  • Working on the recruitment of new members from academic organizations and local authorities (INRIA, Institut Telecom, CTI of Essonne, etc.) in order for new small and medium enterprises to join TERATEC, but also to encourage the development of TERATEC Campus.

Furthermore, this committee can listen to subjects that TERATEC's small and medium enterprises would like to see discussed within our association.

At the end of 2011, the Small and Medium Enterprise Committee concentrated on the issue of buildings and TERATEC Campus. A meeting was organized with the small and medium enterprises affected by this issue on October 19, 2011. The Committee was also present during the meeting organized on December 8, 2011 by the Arpajonnais Community of Communes on the theme of shared transport between TERATEC Campus and the surrounding train stations. A needs letter relating to this subject had been written within the Committee and was sent to the ACC. This subject will obviously still be a priority during the months to come in our actions agenda.

November, 2011

Creation of a committee to represent small and medium enterprises

At TERATEC's General Assembly on July 7, 2011, the idea was born to create a committee for small and medium enterprises within our association. The aim is to gather issues related to the size of our structures to enable fair representation in the joint actions of TERATEC.

One of the first large-scale projects for our Committee will concern the TERATEC Campus. The objective is two-fold: to try to better identify the needs of small and medium companies that could supply the incubator and the business hotel, and to provide support to the different local authorities to make sure this project is managed and coordinated in optimal conditions.  It is not only a matter of premises, but also of shared transport, catering and accommodation.

In addition to this important issue, other working groups have already begun: relations with OSEO, relations with SYSTEMATIC, the position of small and medium enterprises in the different platform projects (NUMMINOV, LYNX, Multimedia platform, Bio-health, etc.). Committee-related events are also planned within the framework of the futur “TERATEC Thursdays".

If you would like to contact the small and medium company committee or suggest other avenues for thought, please do not hesitate to send a mail to Pierre BEAL.

Welcome to the small and medium enterprises committee!
