Overview of the evolution of the software engineering profession since 2000

From the standpoint of an HPC software engineer, which are the major technological, and non-technological, changes, passed and likely to come ?

What consequences on learning, work methodology and on the need to refresh ourselves with regards to the new challenges proposed by our users and customers ?

Biographie : Sébastien CABANIOLS, Master Technologist HPE, Groupe HPC EMEA research lab. Sébastien a rejoint l'équipe HPC de HPE en 2000 et a depuis été impliqué dans des centaines de projets de toutes tailles, pour tous types d'organisations et ceci dans tous les pays où HPE est implanté. Il a principalement travaillé comme ingénieur logiciel en tant que développeur, architecte, chef de projet mais aussi comme support avant-vente en tant qu'expert technique. Une partie de son temps est également consacrée à la transmission de compétences, pour les employés HPE mais aussi pour les clients. Il a récemment rejoint l'équipe de recherche Européenne HPC research lab.
