First scaling quantum processors and their applications

Pasqal is a French start-up, incorporated in 2019, that develops quantum processors based on a new stunning technology. That will bring this kind of processors to go well beyond the proof of concept and to tackle the first industrial use cases within a few years. During the presentation I will give you the flavor of this technology, based on cold atoms manipulated with laser light, and will present a few concrete applications.

Biography : Georges Reymond defended his phD in quantum optics in 2002. His pioneering and founding works isolate a single atom in an optical tweezer, a key step in the development of a quantum computer. He then moves toward industry, where he developed high tech products based on optical technologies, in fields as diverse as biotechnology, defense or semiconductors. In 2018, resuming his thesis work, he worked on the creation of the first French hardware company dedicated to quantum computing. He founded Pasqal in March 2019.
