Co-designing quantum accelerators
By Bruno Taketani, IQM Quantum Computers

Credit IQM.

IQM builds quantum computers based on superconducting technology using proprietary on-chip components to increase the clock speed and facilitate error correction.

We focus on a Co-Design approach where hardware and software are developed hand-in-hand. The resulting application-specific quantum computing stack can be seamlessly integrated into an HPC infrastructure, such that the quantum processor is utilized in an accelerator approach.

In this talk we will present our technology and discuss the challenges and strategies to achieve deep integration of quantum accelerators into HPC environments.

Biography: Bruno G. Taketani works at IQM Quantum Computers leading the integration of the company’s system into HPC environments. His work on quantum computing started in his Ph.D. focused on the development of NISQ-era protocols.

He then followed by 5 years of postdoc in Germany working on quantum algorithms and applications. Before joining IQM, Bruno held a professorship for four years in Brazil helping strengthen the local efforts in quantum technologies.
At IQM, he has also led the team developing co-design algorithms before focusing on his current role.
